Sohil Bhimani, Global HR Director at John Crane, will speak about HR challenges in India.
Sohil Bhimani brings more than a decade of experience in partnering with C suite leadership and influencing people strategy for multiple corporations. He has a Masters in Labour Studies and a Bachelors in Management Studies from Mumbai University.
Sohil started his career in Human Resources in India where he was responsible for APAC -- first at Siemens and later at Smiths Medical. Sohil moved to Chicago with John Crane in 2015 as Global HR Business partner where he was responsible for the Global Finance, Engineering, Legal and QHSE teams in addition to leading the Global Talent management function and Global Rewards related activities.
In his current role, Sohil reports to the Vice President of Global Operations at John Crane and supports 1,900 employees in multi-continent sites and diverse regions. He’s responsible for a spectrum of HR activities, such as workforce planning, talent development, rewards management, employee engagement, mergers & acquisitions, employee relations, HRIS and change management.
Kumiko Watanabe, Partner at Grant Thornton, will speak about HR challenges in Japan
She is also the national leader of the Japan Business Group, responsible for the planning, growth and execution in serving Japanese inbound companies.
Martijn Bouwman, Vice President at Orion Mobility, will speak about HR challenges in The Netherlands
Orion Mobility provides relocation expense management services and mobility tax support to help companies keep their globally mobile workforces happy and compliant. His 15 years of industry experience includes accounting, expansion strategies, HR and global mobility. Bouwman’s broad expertise uniquely qualifies him to appreciate the interdependent relationships that exist among HR, mobility and tax compliance.
A native of the Netherlands, Bouwman moved to the US 16 years ago. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and most recently was a regional director at Radius. Bouwman has a MPA from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Indiana University Bloomington. He speaks Dutch and German.
