Event Description

“Employees are loyal to their managers, not to their companies,” … a compelling reason for companies to invest in developing their leaders. So, how do we set and build a foundation for great leadership?

You are invited to a stimulating discussion among distinguished panelists in the field of leadership development. Learn how to create or enhance a leadership development program in your company.

Following the panel discussion, we’ll have small group breakouts to explore more ideas on the skills that leaders need to build loyalty, deliver business results, and model high impact leadership behaviors at your organization.

Bio: 

 Lydia Manteufel is the Learning and Development Practice Lead at Sprout Social, Inc., focused on how leveraging L&D as a business driver that supports Sprout Social in achieving its goals. She loves to help connect people throughout her network and facilitate thought provoking discussions.

Lydia has a Bachelor of Music from The New England Conservatory and a Master of Science in HR Management and Development from National Louis University. Outside of her HRMAC involvement, you can find Lydia at HRHotSeat meet-ups, amongst other L&D industry events. Her latest fascination is Neuroscience applications in L&D.

Bio:

Carrie is a leadership development expert that has worked closely with Human Resources leaders over the course of her career via client services, financial and general manager roles within Fortune 500 companies. Currently, Carrie is Senior Vice President of the Lake Forest Center for Leadership (C4L), a business unit of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Carrie’s team designs and delivers customized cohort learning experiences to enhance individual and organizational performance. C4L focuses on the development of high impact leadership behaviors and business acumen skills. Carrie received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Bio:

Elizabeth Ruske is a Managing Partner with Tiara International LLC a leadership development company specializing in helping companies fill their leadership pipelines with gender equity. Elizabeth has held various leadership positions for large companies like TRW (Experian), Ceridan, and Acxiom, as well as being involved in smaller start-ups and entrepreneurial firms. Beth believes in the philosophy that leadership is not a title but rather a role we all play because we are all the leaders in our own lives. The Tiara Model for True Leadership (SM) demonstrates this concept.

Title: Director of Leadership Development

Bio:

Brian is Director of Leadership Development for Kemper Insurance where he is responsible for leadership development at all levels, and plays in many HR functions including Change Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Performance and Talent Management, and Succession Planning.  Formerly, Brian has worked in HR and lead the learning functions for Allstate, Marsh ClearSight, First Midwest Bank, and ADP Dealer Services (now CDK Global). Brian also teaches Leading Organizational Change and Strategic Talent Management for the MBA program at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and is the owner of Stone Mountain Consulting and Coaching LLC where he consults in areas related to Talent Management, Leadership and Learning & Development.


This program is pending approval for 1.5 credit hour towards PHR/SPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as well as 1.5 professional development credit (PDC's) toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification.
