As we’ve all experienced, the unemployment rate has held steady at 3.8% and in March, marking the 13th straight month the unemployment rate was at or below 4%. More interestingly, for women specifically, it is the lowest rate we’ve seen since 1953.*

What this means for companies and specifically the talent acquisition teams, is that they must think creatively to find new and innovative ways to attract and retain talent. From sourcing techniques, to out of the box recruitment ideas, our guest speakers for this event will cover it all!  

During this event, a panel discussion of thought leaders will provide their unique perspectives into the market, examples of activities that have worked well, and recommendations on who to target and how. This will be followed by breakout roundtable sessions where each of the panelists will dive deeper into a specific topic area and facilitate a discussion with participants regarding their own experiences and challenges.

Allison Leverenz, Talent Management Partner at Advanced Resources

 Allison Leverenz has been with Advanced Resources for four years focusing exclusively on placement for HR professionals for direct hire positions (HR BP, Talent Management, Comp/Ben, HRIS, Recruiters, etc.). Prior to this position she spent five years with The Cara Program leading the HR function handling all generalist responsibilities – payroll, benefits, recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, etc. She enjoys working with candidates to progress their career to land their dream job! Allison obtained her Master of Arts degree from University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration, has her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from University of Dayton and earned her SHRM-CP.

Susan MacNicol, President at Strategic & Creative Marketing Inc. 

Susan MacNicol has more than 25 years of business experience spanning several industries including media, entertainment, retail, higher education and data. Her roles have ranged from marketing, employment branding and client relations, to sales, recruiting and training.

After a successful management career at both domestic and international companies, including Fortune 500 organizations, Susan established her marketing consulting firm in 2001. Through her company, she has completed projects for non-profits, small businesses and enterprise level companies.

Jamie Preski, Director of Talent Acquisition at Equity Residential

Jamie Preski is the Director of Talent Acquisition for Equity Residential, an S&P 500 company focused on the acquisition, development and management of high quality apartment properties in top U.S. growth markets. Jamie is passionate about diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and development, and corporate social responsibility. She has an undergraduate degree in English and Psychology from the University of Virginia, and is PHR and SHRM certified.

Jessica Schaeffer, Senior Director at LaSalle Network 

Jessica Schaeffer is a Senior Director at LaSalle Network, a national staffing, recruiting and culture firm honored with more than 100 culture and revenue-based awards. Jessica runs a team of 10 marketing and PR professionals, oversees campus recruiting efforts and leads a culture consulting practice for LaSalle Network, helping organizations build and scale their cultures.

Schaeffer has spearheaded LaSalle's marketing efforts, and been integral in the development and retention of employees, contributing to our training and culture initiatives. Schaeffer is on the Board of Directors for the Chicago American Marketing Association and Chicago SHRM. She has been quoted in Fast Company, Forbes, writes frequently for Marketing News magazine, and has been featured on FOX Good Day Chicago, ABC Chicago and WGN
